  1. haha I found out about this rule on fifa

  2. basically IMAGINE the guy on the goal line is wearing the goalkeeper’s attire. and the goalkeeper going for the ball is a defender wearing yellow. their roles are EXCHANGED. so vela is offside.

  3. it was not offside theirs a player next to the post so its not offsides dumbasses

  4. there is no offside in a corner kick. but he was not the first player who received the ball. so is he involved in a corner ’situation’ and the rule doesn’t apply, or after the first mexican touches the ball it becomes a regular play?

  5. thank you ZDF for letting us watching the world cup for free and fuck Aljazeerasport

  6. Except nowhere in the rules does it say last defender. It says second to last defender.

  7. well first off i know what I’m talking about so don’t tell me what offsides is… and your offsides if you are behind the last FEILD player ( the goalie is not a field player he is just protecting the goal…) (: so have fun being wrong

The law clearly states “SECOND TO LAST DEFENDER” not “LAST DEFENDER EXCLUDING THE GOALKEEPER”

generally speaking the goalkeeper is the last defender which is why most offside calls are based off of the last non goalkeeper player. Vela was clearly in front of the second to last defender, which in this case was the goalkeeper, when the ball was headed to him. Learn the laws!

  9. wtf, didn’t know people cared to reply to year old comments, geordie cunt.

  10. Yes, they are. Rudi Cerne from 2nd german TV and former referee Urs Meier from Switzerland.

  11. Be glad that they know the offside-rule at all. Sometimes I meet one of those self-called football experts which never have read the rule in its exact wording.

  12. The real game’s perhaps more realistic than a shitty nerd game.

  13. wtf? didn’t know you were caring for rules at all.

that’s my point,I never realised that it’s impossible to be offside on a direct corner kick until now…weird lol

  15. Only from direct cornors. Vela receives the ball indirectly cause it’s flicked on by a teammate

  16. maxmaxmax4330

    he was behined the keeper

shouldnt it be that there’s no possibility of being offside on a corner kick since the ball is kicked backwards?

  18. thank you for this great explanation, now i fully know the rule.

  19. the second last player makes the offside line not the last defender u idiot..in this case the keeper is the second last player thats why it is offside …u sir are the stupid dumb fuck…if u werent too lazy to read the comments u wouldnt have wrote such a pathetic statement…so stfu u dumb fuck

  20. obviously u didnt understand the offside rule -_- stupid idiot…read the fifa rules u dumb fuck…this is offside u idiot
