  1. We ran this formation with girls in 3rd through 6th grades. The older
    girls grasped the concept, but the younger ones were still lost during the
    fall season. In the spring season, we switched to 2-3-1 and became very
    difficult to score upon, but it helped to have a really dynamic striker and
    a physical center midfielder.

  2. Great video! What ages do you think can pull off this type of formation?
    I am coaching 7 year old boys (they run around like first graders :)), 7 v
    7 (includes a goalie). I am hoping to come up with a fairly simple
    formation they can play. The standard 3 defenders 3 offensive players
    seems inefficient but the diamond may be too complex. Thanks!
